I'm employed
in the aviation industry, involved in Safety, Health and Environmental
Management
I spend most of my time
documenting policy and procedure, as well as performing system audits,
commissioning of new plant and equipment, etc !
I grew
up in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), upon finishing school, I entered into
the electrical field, served an apprenticeship as an Industrial Electrician
at a Chrome Refinery in the town of Gwelo

My name
is Dave, I've been licensed since 1996 (1996/05/07). My first call sign
was ZS6GS. In 2000 I applied for ZS6AVM which had been my late father
Norm's call
Amateur
Radio been something which has interested me for many years. In fact
my late father Norm, was first licensed in 1949, so we basically grew
up with Ham Radio
The QTH
is about 5KM (2 miles) south of the O. R. Tambo Airport, near johannesburg
Kenwood's,
TS870S, TS50 in the mobile, a Flex Radio Systems SDR-1000, and an
FT101ZD. I have a couple of homemade Amplifiers. See the Amplifier
