I work for an aviation company called Denel Aviation, (a division of the Denel Aerospace Group) We are located adjacent the Johannesburg International Airport (we have direct access to the runways)

I live about 5 minutes away, so it's a really short drive to and from work

Our core business is maintenance, servicing, R&D, modifications, manufacturing, we support both our local military client base (namely the South African Airforce), as well as a host of international clients, both commercial and military

We manufacture auxiliary Gearboxes for both Rolls-Royce, and General Electric

We repair, and test various aircraft engines, we have dedicated Engine Test Facilities on our site

We have various workshop facilities, where repairs are undertaken on all aspects of aircraft components, our capabilities profile includes ; electrical, electronics, avionics, hydraulics, transmissions systems, pneumatics, aircraft spray painting facilities, as well as site management, and maintenance functions

The Rooivalk is a modern attack helicopter in the 8,5 Ton class, designed, manufactured and maintained by Denel Aviation
The Rooivalk is currently busy with an Operational Test and Evaluation phase within the South African Airforce prior to being taken into service

The helicopter is designed on a fully integrated state-of-the-art digital management and logistic system

Rooivalk can be equipped to carry a array of weapons which are lethal against a wide range of air and ground targets

FLIGHT TEST

The South African Airforce has established a squadron comprising tweleve (12) Rooivalk which were built by our organisation here in Kempton Park South Africa
